I’ll be the featured singing master this weekend in Chicago, IL at the Warm Winter Singing Camp, held the day before the 26th Chicago Anniversary Singing. The singing school will also feature instruction by Richard DeLong, Judy Hauff, Ted Mercer, and Lisa Grayson.

I’m happy to announce that the Sacred Harp Singing School I taught at Bennington College this fall will continue in the Spring as a full-semester course. The weekly class will feature instruction in the practice, traditions, and history of Sacred Harp singing.

Once again I’ll be at Bennington as a visiting singing master. Bennington College students can register for the class for credit, but the singing schools will be open to the general public as well.

This fall I’ll be teaching a class on Sacred Harp singing at Bennington College in Bennington Vermont as a visiting singing master at the college.

The course will have an enrollment of 30-40 undergraduates, but is open to the public as well, so this is a great opportunity to learn about Sacred Harp singing for anybody in the area.

Beginning later this month on the 3rd Tuesday and continuing every month until October I will be teaching a singing school in Cambridge, NY in the Lovejoy Building at Hubbard Hall. The singing school will begin each month at 7 pm and last for about an hour. We’ll then take a break, followed by singing from the Sacred Harp until 9 or 9:30.

This singing school is an opportunity for individuals in the Cambridge area to learn more about Sacred Harp singing in advance of the New York State Sacred Harp Singing Convention, to be held at Hubbard Hall on October 17-18, 2009.
