This fall I will be beginning my work toward the PhD at the Graduate Institute for Liberal Arts at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. I am excited to start my work there, which will focus on Sacred Harp singing in the 19th and 20th centuries, the formation of a musical style, and the social, religious, and political context of the music and its authors.
